Sony Vaio VPC-EH1M1E Notebook Review

The new Sony Vaio laptop series EH1M1E VPC-E has an unusual design, based primarily on their undulating surfaces. The honeycomb pattern is divided into small triangles and very reminiscent of mother of pearl, at least in the white version of the VPC-EH1M1E.

This type of cell seems also very good in the dark, as we saw with the Sony Vaio PCV-CB2S1E. The Vaio Vaio VPC-EH1M1E/W.G4 is designed as a portable universal, suitable for Internet use and office and watch videos or play games.

Apple MacBook Air 13 Notebook Review

After updating the case of air in the fall of last year, we now see completely new internal hardware based on Intel sand bridge. The extremely thin aluminum chassis is unchanged, still sets the standard for attractiveness, overall feel and thinness.

When 2010-MacBook Air was introduced, Apple has been bombarded with criticism for sticking with out-of-date technology, Intel Core 2 Duo (ULV), while the new Intel Core processors are already available. Instead, Apple has built on the GeForce 320M at the time a relatively powerful graphics card.

LG A520-T.AE31G (3D/2820QM) Notebook Review

Even if the shutter 3D, and Toshiba is the latest in 3D without glasses comes to the market, the LG to revive the old technology polarizer. But the contrast FHD-screen and high, and a powerful Quad-Core is an interesting, even without 3D.

Almost two years have passed since not to bring your Acer Aspire 5738DG 3D to the attention of buyers. Almost no one wanted the player low 15.6-inch (Radeon HD 4570). Could evoke a dark effect and rather limited in 3D with polarized glasses. In addition, the GPU computes the executive fields and caused the delivery by 50% during the games.

LG V900 Optimus Pad Tablet Review

LG V900 Pav emphasizes innovation Optimus 8.9-inch, one tablet can create and play a video in three dimensions. Pad results in an IPS brilliant displays. The LG is also interesting because of its price. Would have to pay 800 euros and 32 GB of memory and a 3G module.

The pad of Optimus V900 Korean manufacturer LG is one tablet with a 8.9 inch (22.6 cm) IPS screen. The device is based on a dual core processor Nvidia (Tegra 250 @ 2x1 GHz) and Android OS 3.0.1 (Honeycomb). A 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of flash memory is factory installed.

This device has two cameras, which can be used in three-dimensional video sequences as a special feature. 3D can display, which can be connected to the HDMI port is required to view 3D movies. In addition, the matching pair of 3D glasses are required. In addition, the 3D registration, the normal full-HD video can be shot (1080x30fps) and high-definition images can be taken.

The tablet should be completed several Google services, like Mail, Talk, Maps and Latitude. Just a Gmail account for their use. E-mail program installed, however, can also manage other accounts, such as IMAP, POP3 and Exchange.

Case
LG's engineers have opted to 8.9 inches, instead of one of the common formats, such as 7 inches or 10.1 for the IPS screen size. The tablet is much greater than, for example, 7-inch models from Creative (7 ZiiO ") or HTC (Flyer).

The difference is not so important in a direct comparison with a compressed more representative of 10 inches.

The tablet of 8.9 inches (243x149x12 mm) is comfortable to hold due to its weight of 630 grams and can also be used easily with one hand. LG has left little space on the pages of glossy screens', so that the visual field is not always covered by the fingers.

Thick pad, with the exception of the tapered edges, 12 mm. But it feels a lot more often. For comparison: Apple iPhone 2 is 8.8 mm thick. Although Optimus iPad2 V900 and have the same weight class (Apple iPad2: 613 g), the LG V900 Optimus feel much heavier. Lightweight product that Apple has lost the LG 8.9-inch tablet.

The other side is made of two parts, the smallest that can be removed from the base unit. It reveals a SIM card slot and a convenient reset button, among other things.

Connectivity
LG is focused on the essentials in terms of interfaces and external control, and has not been very creative with the V900. USB and HDMI port can be found on the bottom. In addition, the dock connector or the cradle of LG SDT-500. We can not say that the plug-in includes a docking station, because he has not provided information on the time of the new LG.

We find the headphone jack, so the adapter and the power button to the left of the unit. There are only two speakers on the opposite side. A microphone is located on the top center and a volume control is a little to the left.

The Optimus V900 can be connected to a PC or Mac via USB. Data Cable only serves to exchange data. The tablet can be charged with the charger. During the test, we found that the transfer of data between the computer and the tablet takes a long time. The transmission rate has not reached the rates specified for USB in any way. Data transfer of 600 MB took over an hour.

Communication
The Optimus V900 has several options for connecting to the outside world. For one thing, it has wireless LAN (WLAN) IEEE 802.11 b / g / n and Bluetooth. You can also access the mobile Internet on the go with the V900, when a SIM card from a service provider is used.

The buffer Optimus has a module that supports 3G wireless transfer of data via GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA and HSPA also supports quad-band technology so that the buffer can be used worldwide.

GPS
In addition to the different communication options, the Optimus V900 also includes a GPS receiver. This allows the buffer to be used as a navigation system. The software used in the LG tablet is based on Google Maps.

Supplies
It 'a little' things can be found in an elegant box of the Tablet PC as well as a real multilingual and comprehensive manual, there is a USB data cable, HDMI cable and charging cable. Are we missing a pair of 3-D glasses for viewing 3D movies recorded. LG offers a cradle of Treatment (SDT-500), about 30 million option.

Warranty
LG defines the warranty period of 24 months. It may, however, vary in different countries, depending on the provisions of the law.

Performance
A dual core processor, Tegra 250 model, does its job in the V900 Optimus. The ARM processor Nvidia is running at 1 GHz and has a second level cache of 1 MB. A graphics processor that is responsible for the video output is also incorporated in the Tegra 250 (ULP GeForce).

Dual-Core CPU support multi-tasking. This means that different applications can open the tablet at the same time. The processor has a total of 1024 MB of DDR2 memory.

The Tegra 250 is a system-on-a-chip module, called an SoC, where all the major hardware components are unified. Thus, processor, graphics card, the GSM and UMTS and other components in a module of the SoC.

The Tegra 250 is very popular among manufacturers of pills and is in Xoom Motorola, Dell Streak 7 "or Acer Iconia Tab A500, among others.

The CPU can not reach the maximum system clock of 1000 MHz, as required by the system. The processor clock has always been between 266 MHz and 1000 MHz in the test. The rate of the latter, then the maximum CPU clock, was only recorded in the graphics-intensive games.

CPU clock resolved between 266 and 606 MHz in current use. The Tegra 250 processor almost never used the clock frequencies higher than 760, 816 and 912 MHz. The advantage of this clock is that energy is saved and the battery life is extended.

Benchmarks
With 93,087 points, the V900 Optimus is already the second at the first point of reference, BrowserMark and therefore is slightly behind the winner, 10.1v Galaxy Tab by 163 points.

Score was only enough for third place in the V8 engine of Google, which once was rewarded with the Asus Eee TF101 card processor. Motorola Xoom is the second.

V900 Optimus ends in second graph compressed tested, the difference is only 5 points of the benchmark dial. The difference is 40 points in third place Streak 7 "Dell is much clearer.

Both rates are found in Smartbench 2011: first for the productivity and the index of the match. The Optimus V900 just had to admit defeat to Motorola Xoom (3652 points) with 3089 points in the index match. The V900 does Optimus third place in the productivity index with a score of 2537 points. Galaxy Tab 10.1v and again, Xoom Motorola said the top position.

LG V900 was beaten by five tablets tested in the Linpack benchmark and only Pro comes in sixth place with 34 218 MFLOPS. The 0.9.1 SunSpider benchmark result was not so bad. The LG tablet is again among the best four points in 2112.

MSI GE620-i748W7P Notebook Review

15-inch multimedia notebooks have always been popular. MSI GE620-i748W7P laptop offers a rich platform technology-based Sandy Bridge. The new portable attract buyers with a quad-core CPU, a map of the middle class and Nvidia video Optimus technology.

Buyers interested in purchasing a multimedia notebook that offers good performance for less than $ 800 can find the GE620 MSI notebook ideal for them. This model of 15-inch MSI is available in a variety of configurations, but in this study, we examine only the first two most important models.

The basic model, GE620-i547W7P, is available for less than 700 a year online stores. For this price, the buyer may be a middle class system: four gigabytes of DDR3 RAM, 500 GB hard drive, DVD player and a modern dual-core processor. 2.3 to 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5-2410M (3 MB L3 cache) provides the average user more than enough performance. GeForce 540M manages the graphics easily and comes with DirectX 11 support.

On the other hand, the GE620-i748W7P, which is around 100 euros more expensive sports a faster processor. The Core i7-2630QM is a high performance quad-core CPU running at 2.0 to 2.9 GHz (6 MB L3 cache). The hard disk capacity increases from 500 to 640 GB.

The display (1366 x 768 pixels), battery (6 cells) and the operating system (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) are the same. To determine whether this 15-inch model costs money, read on.

Specifications MSI GE620-i748W7P :
  • Processor : Intel Core i7 2630QM 2 GHz
  • Mainboard : Intel HM65
  • Memory : 4096 MB, 2x 2048 MByte DDR3-RAM (1333 MHz), max. 8 GB, 2 Slots

Case
The black box and gray do not will delight users. MSI chose the cheaper plastic surface that looks like brushed aluminum, due to the line of fine structure on its surface. Nearby, the case does not seem high quality and design are kept to a minimum: only two bands of money (above the keyboard and touchpad below) adorn the otherwise plain.

We liked the matte finish that prevents the accumulation of fingerprints and dust particles. Only the sensitive areas, such as monitor, keyboard and screen borders are victims of these annoyances. Overall, the case shows good craftsmanship. The chassis is sturdy decent top and bottom yields to pressure little here and there but overall the case is strong.

Like many other phones, the top of the screen is not well designed. He gave much when pressed with both hands. The hinges are another problem. Although they are rigid (changes in laptop when the screen is open), the screen, which is responsible for maintaining tremble when the bottom of the laptop is moved.

Even writing is normal to shake the screen. The laptop measures (38.3 x 25.0 x 3.8 cm) and weight (2.6 kg) are decent and transport your notebook should not be a problem.

Performance
Buyers interested in obtaining the best processor for the future generation must choose an Intel quad-core Sandy Bridge past. Core i7-32 2630QM nm is the entry model to the world of quad-core. The processor can be dynamically increased from 2.0 GHz to 2.9 GHz (depending on temperature and load) using the Turbo Boost.

Hyperthreading is another important feature that allows the processor to simulate virtual quad-core. Therefore, the processor can handle up to 8 threads simultaneously (4 + 4 real virtual cores). Unlike the i5 models, Core i7 has a larger L3 cache (6 MB to 3 MB), and i7 transistors are about 60% higher (995 versus 624 million).

Ideal: the Optimus graphics switching technology, the user can switch between integrated graphics HD 3000 graphics chip and a dedicated graphics card. According to Intel, the value TDP of 45 W.

CPU Performance
The performance of the Core i7 CPU 2630QM can leave office is behind in the dust. In single-core Cinebench R10 rendering 64-bit, quad-core delivered a fabulous performance: 4660 points. It is slightly better than Core i5-2410M (dual core with 2.3 to 2.9 GHz - 4537 points) is integrated in the Asus K53SV-SX131V.

In multi-core and dual-core is not a coincidence: 16,202 vs. 9620 points, a difference of 68%. Gap widens again in the Cinebench benchmark 2630QM at R11.5 64Bit Core i7 4.62 points, while Core i5-2410M can manage only 2.48 points (-46%).

Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 540
The graphics card for this model is a DirectX 11-ready middle-class model: GeForce GT 540 (GF108-based Nvidia Chip - Fermi Architecture). The card is equipped with 1024 MB VRAM running at 900 MHz. Unfortunately, the memory interface is just 128. Even if VRAM is a fast DDR3 memory interface model limits the performance.

GeForce 540 GT still has 96 shaders running at 1344 MHz. The heart operates at 672 MHz. GeForce GTX 540 also offers a wide range of features such as hardware decoding of HD (PureVideo HD), to deliver HD audio via HDMI and running physics calculations (PhysX).

Graphics chip is manufactured in the last 32 nm form, and the effect of heat loss is about 35 W. Overall, Nvidia offers a well rounded package.

Nvidia Optimus
The most important feature is probably the Nvidia GE620 Optimus. This technology allows the system to automatically change the integrated graphics chip and dedicated video card. When the computer is in the Office programs, or surf the Internet, HD 3000 integrated graphics, but when the game starts, the power GeForce 540M.
This is pure comfort for the user. Nvidia offers users the ability to configure the graphics unit is used to execute a program. Users can right click and run the application with the graphics of the desired unit. Also, the NVIDIA control panel allows users to create a profile tailored for optimum performance.

Users who do not trust their place Optimus can pick up the graphics card to run all applications. The only problem is that there are some 3D applications that refuse to run on the dedicated graphics card.

GPU performance
The performance of the graphics card is far below the level of the processor. In heaven Unigine 2.1 benchmark (1280 x 1024, Up, normal tessellation DirectX 11), the GeForce 540M GT was not fast enough to display an image smoothly. Nvidia GPU is faster than his toughest competition from AMD, the Radeon HD 6650M (Packard Bell LS11-HR-050GE): 13.4 vs 11.9 fps. GPU score of 3DMark 11 (1280 x 720, the performance preset) favors the AMD GPU: 1013 vs 899 points (13%).

HDD performance
As expected, the GE620 is only one hard drive slot. MSI has installed a Seagate 500GB (WD6400BEVT-22A0RT0) laptop. This is a model with a laptop manufacturers actually. Still, no hard drive is set to a new level as 5400 rpm, and the sequential read and write rates are about 77 MB / s - performance that can easily win the 7200 rpm hard drive. 15-inch model really takes the momentum when the SSD (Solid State Drive) is installed to speed up the Windows experience.

System operation
The performance of the entire system has been tested in PCMark Vantage. Portable Multimedia score 7094 points, which are typical for this notebook category. Sony VAIO-F22S1E / B, which is similar to our test model, a higher score can make it faster hard drive and RAM (8 GB vs. 4): 7488 points (6%).

Toshiba Qosmio X775 Notebook Review

Qosmio is Toshiba's high-end multimedia and gaming laptop with a screen resolution of small, odd design and poor construction quality. This latest iteration features a striking design, 1.5 GB graphics card, and two hard drives.

Specifications Toshiba Qosmio X775-Q7272 :
  • 17.3-inch glossy 900p display (1600x900 resolution)
  • Intel Core i7-2630QM quad-core processor (2.0GHz, up to 2.9GHz Turbo Boost, 6MB cache, 45W TDP)
  • Intel HM65 chipset
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M graphics card w/ 1GB GDDR5 dedicated video memory
  • Graphics automatically switchable to integrated Intel graphics (Nvidia Optimus)
  • 6GB DDR3-1333 RAM (1x 4GB + 1x 2GB; supports up to 8GB - 2x 4GB)
  • Dual 500GB 7200RPM Seagate hard drives (ST9500423AS)
  • Atheros AR9002WB-1NG wireless network adapter
  • No internal Bluetooth
  • Integrated webcam
  • Tray-load Blu-ray ROM/DVD burner (MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ141EL)
  • 1-year limited warranty
  • 8-cell Li-ion battery (47Wh)
  • Weight: 6.6 lbs.
  • Dimensions: 16.3 x 10.8 x 1.1~2.4 inches
  • Price: $1,499.99
The processor and the graphics are very excited over the specs, this laptop is clearly designed for high-end gaming and multimedia use. The 500 GB hard drives of 640 GB is considered relatively small, 750 GB, 1 TB and readers are more traditional.

The biggest problem with these specifications is the screen resolution of 1600x900 floor, a multimedia notebook, especially one with a Blu-ray, should be 1920x1080 (1080p) native resolution. As it is, this laptop can not correctly display Blu-ray as they are intended to be read.

Design and build
The most objective to describe the design of the Qosmio X775 is "controversial." I'm sure some buyers will love the non-traditional aspect of this laptop. However, it is difficult to imagine that most people would find a look as "attractive."

The shape of the X775 is not as extreme as the Qosmio X305 previous generation, but what is lacking in the curves is in strange colors. The palm rest and the surface of the lid has a wood grain-like texture with silver paint metal that is almost blinding sunlight, needless to say, I'm not a fan. The colors fade from black to red, which enhances the appearance end (for better or for worse).

The build quality is disappointing. The X775 is the plastic construction does little to differentiate itself from most notebooks of the budget, higher-quality materials is needed on a laptop that expensive. The chassis has a large flex when bent around corners, which means this laptop needs a strong internal structure.

The cover is fragile and can be bent with virtually no effort, the waves on the screen when pressed from behind, indicating the display panel itself has little protection. Overall the design is difficult to blind, and build quality is inferior compared to other media and gaming laptops in the same price range.

Ports and Features
I expected the X775 sports a better selection of ports - which he says that the laptop has USB 3.0 more bases, but it lacks an ExpressCard slot, DisplayPort and eSATA. The optical drive also had an annoying rattle as you read DVDs. All descriptions of the picture below are listed from left to right.

Screen and speakers
Toshiba Qosmio X775 is a 17.3-inch, high-gloss. Even in the eyes of the screen resolution is 1600x900 with no budget, taking X775 notebook nothing to the imagination, and has a Blu-ray, should have the correct 1920x1080 (HD/1080p complete) accuracy.

Setting complaints resolutuion hand, the X775 uses a TN panel typical, which means that the colors distorted when viewed from above and below. The screen is certainly bright enough and has adequate contrast, but is not very colorful.

Ultimately, it is essentially the same quality as a 17.3-inch laptop that is not typical traditional good considering the X775 costs twice as much as a budget 17.3-inch computer portable.

The built-in Harman / Kardon is one of the highlights of the X775 is. The cones are much larger than expected from a normal mobile phone, but feel grids covered by some strange-looking chrome on the keyboard. A relatively large subwoofer is built into the bottom of the notebook. The sound quality is great for a laptop, are powerful and strong enough to fill the room without distortion. Low is noticeable even when not sitting in front of the laptop with a powerful subwoofer.

The keyboard and touchpad
X775 is a full-size chiclet / island-style keyboard and a red backlight. The keys are flat top and a smooth and glossy. And 'more calm to write about it, those around you can not see. Key travel - the distance down and pressed the United Nations to do so - is short so tactile feedback is in some way, even though I had no trouble to write quickly and accurately. I'm not completely flexible during normal use. Backlit red looks beautiful at night is easy on the eyes.

The touchpad does not receive the right half, the matte surface is easy to follow and is the right size for a 17.3-inch screen. The touchpad buttons are terrible, however, feel and incredibly cheap, strong hollow click it, no matter how easy the keys are pressed.

On the plus side, I like the touchpad on / off button above the keyboard, most laptops should come with a feature that people can disable the touchpad, if you use an external mouse.

Performance and benchmarks
X775 had problems with power through a suite of benchmarks and games, thanks to enthusiast-class components. Multitasking several applications at the same time is easy thanks to quad-core Intel Core i7 2630QM and 6 GB of RAM. 1.5 GB Nvidia GTX 560M graphics card is the third most powerful Nvidia graphics card, and there are no longer able to play the latest games with image quality settings.

The only thing that slowly on this laptop is the hard drive, 500 GB 7200 RPM Seagate are older and slower than some modern readers 5400. Ideally, this laptop should have come with Seagate Momentus drives or hybrid drives XT 640GB/750GB 7200.

HP EliteBook 2560p LG666EA Notebook Review

The EliteBooks produced by HP in notebooks luxury class. These models usually have a price of more than 1000 euros and a finish of high quality aluminum. Any buyer can find the perfect size for themselves thanks to the wide variety of sizes of these models come in.

The 15.6-inch 8560p model was the heaviest (3.2 kg), but also offered the best performance. The smaller 14-inch 8460p had some problems with the limitation of the CPU, but it was cold and it was a high level of professionalism (2.44 kg). Case
Today's consumers are looking for the thinnest subnotebook available. HP does not accept this trend and, instead, choose to add a few hundred grams, and a couple of layers of material at 2560p 12.5-inch subnotebook. 2560p weighs 1.96 pounds and sits on a heavy hand.

Huge behind the laptop measures 3.5 cm, which is 0.6 cm wider than the flat IdeaPad S205 and 1.4 cm more than the Edge Lenovo E125. EliteBook 2540p (2560p predecessor) could not have been a light (1833 g), but at least it was 130 grams lighter.

However, the relatively large size and unusual laptop is robust and reliable. HP has chosen high quality, heavy materials for the 2560p. We wanted to make the system robust for professional use.

The basic unit of the laptop seems impenetrable. The two regions palm rest and the bottom plate of the laptop successfully resisted all our attempts to bend them inward. The chassis is compact and safe, and HP has successfully developed a solid base that requires the removal of any screws to take off. The removal of the bottom plate does not affect the strength of the negatively by several mobile belts on the support frame inside.

The cover protects dependent on viewing angle. We could hardly bend the edges of the cover. The silvery sheen of the surface because the coating applied to aluminum, which is cool to the touch. Fingerprints do not have a chance, but the scratches can appear over time.

Fold the cover of a single point is almost impossible. We managed to get a screen 1 or 2 mm by applying a tremendous force in the center of the surface. However, the pressure applied over a large area is easily dispersed by the cover of the fort.

The material collected a laptop (normal plastic, brushed aluminum and lacquered) feels cold and strong resistance to scratches. Hinges for the laptop is a huge thing. They are the true metal and can be found at the base station. Not a lot of force to bend or twist them, and they have met their obligations even in well-organized display. As the weight of the platform, you can pull open the screen with one hand.

Another interesting feature of the HP is its screen locking mechanism. 2560p screen lock consists of two solid metal hooks that stand out from the screen. These hooks can not be broken easily. The user can operate the locking mechanism with one hand pressing the silver button on the front of the laptop. Similarly, removing the battery requires only one hand to press the cursor on the back.

Communication
The most Bluetooth 2.1 module and Draft-N WLAN (Intel ® Centrino ® Advanced-N 6205 AGN) are the only communication modules in 2560p. Users who search the Internet on the go will be the setting that offers HSDPA LG669EA. Our model has a free PCIe slot for Mini-HSDPA module (including the antenna) and a SIM card slot is located underneath the battery.

Security
HP has delivered a variety of tools and safety equipment for a laptop. Fingerprint reader, SmartCard reader and a waterproof keyboard (with drainage in the bottom plate) is the standard for books elite. HP ProtectTools (complete package) is a security software. This is the HP Disk Sanitizer, Drive Encryption, Credential Manager (password), and File Sanitizer (delete the file without a trace), and many other instruments.

The 2560p is compatible with the "central government", which means it can be remote (via Internet or network) identifiable and accessible. The TPM 1.2 embedded security chip used for this purpose. The BIOS offers a variety of options, such as the setup password (Enhanced Pre-Boot Security), DriveLock (secures the hard drive with a password), Intel Anti Theft (avoiding the use of a stolen laptop) and DiskSanitizer (secure data deletion).

Accessories
Two of the recovery package, the DVD is inserted (one for each 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 Professional). Unfortunately, HP will ship a laptop with a 32-bit operating system already installed, and the HP product page mentions only the 32-bit version. Unwanted software, like Norton, can be avoided, if the user ticks them off when you first start the laptop.

HP Quick Web (the middle button of the three keys) is software Instant-On (IOS) which is intended for fast access to Internet and e-mail outside of Windows. This software is ideal because it avoids not only boot into Windows, but also ensures the laptop when connected to an unknown network. As users start their Web presentation using IOS are safer. For screenshots, see our photo gallery, right column.

HP offers a docking port for a special 12.5-inch 2560p. LE877AA (180 euros) is not compatible with other HP business notebooks, but its predecessor, the model does not work, 2540p. Although the models are 14 and 15 inches at the bottom docking port, 2560p is the docking interface on the right side of the case. The docking station provides four USB 2.0, DisplayPort, eSATA, Ethernet, 2x Audio, and VGA.

The cut of the 9-cell battery ("ultra-long battery life") available for the 2540p is not available to 2560p (XX6XB/P/W, Li-Ion, 8.850mAh).

Connectivity
12.5-inch model offers nearly everything a workbook to have. DisplayPort, ExpressCard34, SmartCard reader and eSATA are all available on the laptop. HP DisplayPort taken the place of HDMI for video output. An interface to a docking station that is a "must have" for laptops of high quality business are also available. Unfortunately, the USB 3.0 ports, which can be found in other laptops of high quality that is missing here.

The laptop does not have a modem interface (RJ11), screw it into the VGA port and Firewire (i-Link). Any lack of interfaces can be added through the slot ExpressCard34, for example, a USB 3.0 controller. The placement of two USB ports and a VGA port on the back is nice. This allows the VGA cable and two USB cables to be pushed out of sight.

Performance
Core i7-2620m (2.7 GHz) EliteBook 2560p is the best CPU can be supported. We opted for a cheaper option, i5-2410M (2.3 GHz). This is Sandy Bridge processor generation can be easily overclocked up to 2.9 GHz with turbo technology. Latest 2.0 turbo can push the CPU more, depending on the temperature (Dynamic Range Turbo @ Frequency limits).

Graphics HD 3000 graphics chip is integrated into the CPU, and is responsible for all graphics are displayed. There are two slots for RAM in a laptop, and you must use Form 2048 MB, while the other is free. Notebook BIOS is the control center, the user can configure various features and functions, such as a camera, LAN card, Multi-CPU on / off Hyper Threading on / off, or special features (USB Charge offs, when the% capacity). Very few other manufacturers offer a wide user control on the device.

So you need the CPU to the user? It is a 2410M (2.3 GHz - our test model) is a significantly faster core or Intel Core i7-2620m (2x 2.70GHz) necessary? Cinebench R10 32bit The only answer was clear: 3,662 points of 4,350 points. The difference of 15% is very low.

Single-core calculations are less relevant for everyday use. For daily use, multi-threading, high clock speed more important. The 2410M scored 8017 points in Cinebench R10 Multi. On the other hand, scored 9450 points 2620m up in our test models. Again, the difference is only 15%. In short: 2410M is more than enough for everyday use.

Interesting: CPU benchmarks showed the same results in almost all systems 2410M. This is the first demonstration that the 12.5-inch model does not suffer from the limitation of CPU load.

On the other hand, PCMark Vantage (32 bit), the benchmark showed the score at the end of 5778 the points system 2410M HD 3000 graphics. For such a system, this score is low, but it is probably the result we had 32-bit version of the benchmark.

Another test models in our database was tested in two PCMark Vantage 64, and when you look at other laptops to demonstrate that the alternative-2620m i7 processor can actually increase your score: 7845 points (Lenovo ThinkPad T420 4236-NGG, 7200 RPM HDD).

The new benchmark PCMark 7 gave a score of 1594 points, which is really low for a system of 2410M. Even a Fujitsu Lifebook LH531 (5400 RPM HDD) scored highest: 1855 points. The low score could once again because of the 32-bit version of Windows installed on the laptop.

A DSS can improve the score, as indicated by Toshiba R830-11C, equipped with the same equipment and a DSS 2936 points (THNSNC128GMLJ Toshiba, 128 GB SSD). A Vaio SA2Z9E / B with a SSD and a processor 2620m (3488 points) gives us an indication of what kind of scores 2560p LG669EA could reach 7 to PCMark benchmark. The 2560p would score lower as SA2 Vaio has a dedicated graphics card.

As the primary storage device is a standard hard drive, the user should not expect extraordinary values. Sub-Result HDD PCMark Vantage is located on a good 4190 points. The good performance was mainly due to the fact that the hard drive running at 7200 rpm.

SSDs are faster (20 to 25 DNT. Point), but they are still new to the laptop on the market. Hard drive (320 GB) from Toshiba sounds of 89 MB / s sequential read (HD Tune), which is a clear indication of how fast it runs.

Integrated Intel Graphics HD 3000 is not suitable for the most demanding games. Risen does not work the laptop but the resolution of 800x600 pixels. Black Ops Call of Duty hangs a couple of times and there is no fun at low details. Users who are looking for subnotebooks with the authorities should consider the game SA2Z9E / B Vaio, Radeon 6630M.

Toshiba Satellite L775-125 Notebook Review

Toshiba adds a desktop replacement 17-inch bridge of sand latest hardware on the market with the Satellite L775-125. Moreover, there is a Nvidia GeForce 525M GT makes the game possible.

Toshiba launches a big 17-inch multimedia notebook on the market called Satellite L775-125. In particular, the Satellite L775-125 of the big screen makes it an interesting non-cash (DTR). The equipment, which consists of the current processor, Intel's Sandy Bridge family, and the midrange Nvidia GeForce graphics card, does not make this seem so implausible application in the field, either. A large 500GB hard drive should be sufficient for most users so far, and 4 GB of RAM should provide good performance.

Case
Toshiba Satellite L775-125 is also quite light gray. Figure used in laptop screen cover, which is strongly reminiscent of a pair of clothes (Toshiba called the Matrix model considered). Toshiba logo crests at the center of the screen door. While Toshiba uses glossy plastic finish is remarkably resistant to fingerprints.

Most riding schools do not leave marks on the surface of a laptop. Only the dust is obviously of interest to the surface. A visible layer of dust accumulates rapidly, while the computer is connected to the table for some time. When the notebook is opened, which is not only possible with one hand, you can still see the shiny surface.

The hinges are not pulled too tight. Consequently, it is possible to prevent the big screen wobbles. Toshiba has taken the design of a coherent and gray are also contained in a single model. We did not find fingerprints visible on the wrist rest, even after longer use.

What a professional, portable, in principle, makes a good impression. While the big screen is not particularly rigid and the display cover can be easily printed, the overall growth in the production of components is acceptable. There are no creaking sounds when pressure is applied.

The wrist rest could not be more stable. It does not produce even a millimeter, even at high pressure. The keyboard is also quite stable. Only the numeric keypad, directly above the optical drive can be pushed a bit 'of selection pressure. In addition, we move away from a laptop on the right side, and hundreds less than the keyboard.

Connections
While Toshiba has a large 17-inch laptop, it is not, at least not with a lot of interfaces. Thus, only has three USB ports. This series consists of two USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.0 port. Interfaces like eSATA, or an ExpressCard slot is not installed, either. Toshiba Satellite L775-125: The connection is quite comparable to the 15-inch laptop.

In addition, Toshiba has created the majority of the ports on the front of the laptop. Even if only as the audio interface and two USB ports are on the right front edge, almost all the front doors are left. This can lead to confusion of cables. Especially when the computer is still a place that is not uncommon for 17-inch laptop.

Performance
The Intel Core i5-2410M, a process is currently very popular in the latest generation of Intel Sandy Bridge, is installed on the Toshiba Satellite. Although the mid-range dual processor is preferably used in laptops 15 inches, yet offers enough power for most applications in 17-inch laptops.

The processor is faster with a clock speed of 2.3 Ghz default. If the performance bottlenecks of Intel Turbo Boost is enabled. Clock frequency of CPU can be increased without user intervention. The clock frequency can be increased up to 2.9 GHz as required and cooling the processor. 2.9 GHz is achieved when a kernel is loaded.

The clock is only increased to 2.6 GHz when the power of two cores are required. In addition, the processor is quite modest in terms of cooling with a TDP of 35 watts. Therefore, the Toshiba Satellite L775-125 should have no problem in cooling the processor.

Although Intel Graphics HD 3000 is included in the processor, Toshiba is exclusively based on the Nvidia GeForce 2048 GT 525M graphics MB of DDR3 memory. Similarly, the processor, it is a mid-level model, which would be perfectly adequate for ordinary users. Graphics cards based on the GF108 and the nucleus is very similar to the GT 425M.

However, the 525M GT has a clock speed increased slightly. In addition to the graphics card capable of DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.0. In addition, Office, Internet and multimedia, graphics card is also suitable for casual wear. Even if compromises need to be more sophisticated games, such as the Metro 2033, the old games you can play very high quality settings. We use programs Cinebench R10 and R11.5 in 64-bit version to verify the performance of the processor. Toshiba Satellite L775-125 when a score of 4505.0 points in Cinebench R10 rendering single (64 bits) of reference. It is in the top third of our reference table. The first is for the slower models in this exercise compared to other laptops that use an Intel Core i5-2410M.

For example, hearing-SX121V K53SV Asus laptop (2410M GT, 540) for high-end models with a Core i5-2410M processor with 4649.0 points. The Medion Akoya P6631 (2410M GT 540) offers a performance similar to 4494.0 points. Toshiba to catch up in Cinebench R10 rendering multi (64 bits), and is a benchmark in midfield with 9575.0 points. Models by Asus K73SV-TY032V (2410M GT, 540) is in a similar series with 9659.0 points. Unfortunately, the Cinebench R11.5 does not allow any precise conclusion, because the ranking is too vague. Toshiba Satellite L775-125 to obtain a score of 2.6 points here, and is therefore at the same level as other notebooks have Core i5-2410M processor. There are only a few exceptions, reaching only 2.5 points here.

Finally, the Toshiba Satellite L775-125 offers the performance expected. Toshiba has not exhausted the processor installed the last piece of performance, but the laptop can not stand as a whole, a good midfield and comparable notebooks.

Benchmarks, PCMark Vantage PCMark and 7 on the evaluation of the entire system. Benchmarks to evaluate the entire system and the rate accordingly. Toshiba Satellite L775-125 laptop is in a position of midfielder in our reference table with 6053.0 points in PCMark Vantage overall assessment.

It is one of the laptops like Dell Inspiron 17R Laptop (N7110) (2410M GT 525 million) with 6134.0 points and the Toshiba Satellite L755-14P laptop (2401M, HD 3000 Graphics) with 5951.0 points. Toshiba Satellite is faster in the lower midfield PCMark 7 (compared to other phones that also has an Intel Core i5-2410M). System performance is acceptable at all, but nothing special compared to other phones.

As expected, the graphics card in mid-range Nvidia GeForce GT 525, put the laptop at about the middle of our reference table. 3DMark06 is used as a benchmark. Toshiba Satellite L775-125 Laptop reached 6681.0 points. It is therefore in the range of immediate Dell XPS Studio 16 (P8600, HD 4670) which gained 6704.0 points and even excels Satellite L775-125 a little.

Acer Aspire 7551G-N934G64Bn Mobile (N930, HD 5650) is slightly lower than that of the Toshiba laptop with 6661.0 points. Fast Toshiba models belongs to a little slower compared to other laptops that use the Nvidia GeForce 525 million. Toshiba achieved the score is slightly below average.

Toshiba to use the hard drive Seagate ST9500325AS. It is a 2.5-inch 5400-rpm model. Compliant with the current standard hard drive (gross) capacity of 500 GBS. This level is not anything special, either. The average transfer rate of 63.1 MB / sec and the access speed of 19.2 milliseconds are prices that can be easily reached from other hard drives, too.

Schenker XIRIOS W710 Notebook Review

Professional users who do not want to compromise on performance and features to prick up their ears when they hear about a 17-inch W710 Xirios. Schenker has given us one of the most expensive, costing about 7,000 euros, and high-speed devices.

Barebone provider, Schenker, who is best known for its high-performance portable computers in the games, also manages the group of small business users before. Xiria the W710, based on bulky and heavy X7200 Barebone six kilos, provides the ideal user for video editing, 3D and other fields of application - provided that the components are installed as. Copy: The desktop replacement can be configured in detail.

Beyond the game graphics, GeForce GTX 580 (SLI) and ATI Radeon HD 6970M (CrossFire), Schenker also offers models of workstation, the Quadro FX 2800M and Quadro 5010M. Unlike most laptops, mobile not a derivative, but a desktop server, respectively, used as a processor representative. While players will be pleased with the Core i7 processors, the Xeon line addresses before the professional sector.

It goes with the main memory which is just as generous. Namely, up to 24 GB of DDR3 RAM installed in the case of 17 inches. Since 8 GB modules are still very expensive, we recommend a maximum of 12 GBS (3x MBS 4096). If you have large amounts of data, you can even build in three hard drives, if you want. The possibilities are almost limitless here. Schenker conventional hard drives and hybrid models and SSD breakthrough. A RAID array is of course also possible.

Meanwhile, a DVD recorder is installed as a standard unit. Spectators must select the BluRay disc burner or optional at this time. The basic configuration does not include a WLAN module. Schenker is a small fee. The operating system contains no surprises. 64-bit version of Windows 7 (in German or English) dominates. Finally, the warranty period is 24, 36 or 48 months.

The customer has already paid a basic configuration of the steep euros in 2199. However, W710 Xirios easily reach a large number of four digits, depending on configuration. The best example is the test machine: only a few users can or want to invest almost 7,000 million.

Since the X7200 Barebone Clevo is an old friend (see the devil-tech HellMachine DTX, for example), we have omitted a description of the classes of case contacts, input devices and speakers rather than the exception.

Performance
Processor: Intel Xeon X5670
It comes Xeon processors that are optimized for servers and workstations, is certainly in a class by itself. Schenker, our test unit is the very high Xeon X5670, a hex core that is not currently listed in the configurator. Given the specs, some readers are likely to get watery eyes.

Six hearts, a huge 12 MB L3 cache, from 2.93 to 3.33 GHz clock speed and a TDP of 95 watts is telling. Mobile Core i7 processors to look like an old hat with a maximum of four cores and up to eight MB of L3 cache in comparison.

A key feature is the Hyper-Threading Technology. A simultaneous treatment of 12 threads is achieved through the simulation of six virtual cores. Same as current Intel processors, the Xeon X5670 is manufactured in a width of 32 nm structure. Damage: Since Intel has saved in a graphics chip, a manual switch or automatic GPU is not possible for handset manufacturers.

CPU Performance
The rate of performance Xeon X5670 is more than amazing. Whatever the CPU benchmark is used - the core hexa are still among the key managers. For better classification, let us Xeon X5670 compete with the current fastest quad-core.

2.5 to 3.5 GHz, the Core i7-2920XM (Schenker XMG P501) has led to at least 64bit Cinebench R10 single-core rendering. It has the advantage of almost 16%, and 5343-4613 points. The tide turns, as expected, multi-core rendering.

Intel Xeon X5670 drops by over 20% faster thanks to the higher number of cores (23701-19727 points). The gap is even bigger Cinebench R11.5. Core i7-2920XM behind the size of which 25% of 5.7 to 7.55 points.

Video Card: Nvidia Quadro 5010M
A DirectX 11 card are capable of extremely expensive graphics workstations used in our test device. The Quadro 5010M is based on Nvidia's architecture represents the Fermi and better mobile GPU Quadro 5000M Pro before (from mid 2011).

Same variant of the first division games, the GeForce GTX 580M, the 5010M Quadro has 384 shader units are also available. However, the clock frequencies are much lower. The Quadro "only" works with 450/900/1300 MHz 620/1240/1500 MHz instead of return, the video memory is twice as large. 4096 MB GDDR5 VRAM are highly scalable. Nvidia did not neglect or the memory bus. Only a few programs can drain 256 bits.

Despite the manufacturing process below 40 nm, the graphics card means a lot of energy. A 100-watt TDP, even large laptops brings to its limits. Nvidia drivers customized to meet the needs of business users as well as possible.

The result: While the games were a little softer with a comparable consumer GPU, like the Radeon HD 6970M, the Quadros are unbeatable in the 3D rendering and other calculations (science). Nvidia has done a great job with the driver. Even inexperienced users to handle.

GPU performance
No GPU will be able to catch up with the Quadro 5010M in the professional field so quickly. Almost no laptop has ever completed the program, SPECviewperf 11 (combines several criteria OpenGL), so smooth. While the younger brother, Quadro 5000 is lagging behind with 20%, much less expensive Quadro FX 2800M is the performance of almost 70% lower (both prices HP EliteBook 8740w).

Ice dilutes the Quadro 5010M when it comes to the playground and performance of DirectX. The 41.7 fps that the work done in heaven demanding Unigine 2.1 benchmark (1280x1024, high, paving the default) is excellent. However, the GeForce GTX 580M (Schenker XMG P501), over 6% to 44.3 fps. The difference increases at (1280x720 performance optimization, score GPUs) 3DMark 11. Points from 3310 to 2693 represent more than 25%.

Hard disk drive (s) Performance
One of the main points X7200 Barebone unique selling is the ability to build up to three hard drives. Apartment Schenker and equipped our test unit with two SSDs and hard drive. We start with two drives of 120 GB SSD OCZ (3 Vertex-VTX3 25SAT3-120G) connected via SATA3 and was created as a RAID0 array (increases performance) by Schenker.

In short: The rate of return is likely to knock the socks off some users. Rate was determined sequential read speed of 534 MB / s sequential write 296 MB / s SSD reference AS - great! A solid state drive drops sharply only in direct comparison. SSDSA2CW160G3 Intel (160 GB) was only half as fast in testing Schenker XMG A501, for example.

A standard hard drive, not a chance against the RAID array. Even fast 7200 rpm 750 GB model like the Seagate Momentus ST9750420AS (the third disc) must be satisfied with a comparatively meager 100 MB / s sequential read and write. But differences in access time is the greatest.

While the normal hard drives to reach between 15 and 25 ms, two SSDs achieve a remarkable 0.2 ms. Windows responds instantly to routine, and the system is not confused by the massive multitasking.

Medion Erazer X6815 Notebook Review

Medion is a very hot iron in Erazer Fire X6815. What is the manufacturer is able to merge the 2630QM Core i7, GeForce GT 555m, Full HD BluRay drives and 800 euros.

At a price of 800 euros, is given not only to buy a quad core processor from Intel next generation Sandy Bridge (2630QM Core i7) and DirectX 11 compatible graphics card in the upper midrange (GeForce 555), but also a full HD screen with the corresponding BluRay drive (CD and DVD burning). A four GB of DDR3 RAM and a 500 GB hard part in. The 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium running operation.

With a relatively fast and as hard to find laptops at this price - you need to accept compromises, at least one area. For example, until now the price-quality point, HP dv6-Series (GeForce 6770M) does not have a Full HD screen. So we were very curious about where Medion has unavoidably made cuts. To determine whether Erazer X6815 is recommended for a bargain in this review.

Case
The case does not necessarily allow conclusions on the inside power. Medion is based on a black plastic case that is not a visible impression or qualitatively impressive. The bright surfaces quickly the earth. The book is filled with fingerprints and dust as soon as possible.

If you do not take care when carrying around or during cleaning, you will quickly get scratches on the material. Matt surfaces, the X6813 big brother, would certainly have been more viable.

What works, there is much to criticize. X6815 is a large building. Our test unit showed no irregular edges or openings. At least the AP appealed to the stability. Start seemingly deprived of the touch-sensitive bar. In return, the cover is not very hard - the dilemma of a typical laptop.

Hinges must accept a greater appeal. Even if the base is unlikely to increase the openness, the vibration causes the screen surface to crumble. Total weight 2.7 pounds and a height of nearly four laptop cents more than acceptable, because the performance

Connections
Medion is confined to the most needed in terms of connectivity. If you definitely need an ExpressCard slot, eSATA or FireWire, you inevitably look around for an alternative.

Besides the usual suspects, such as outlet, Kensington lock, VGA, HDMI output, respectively, the X6815 has Erazo four USB ports (two USB 3.0). Stereo headphones or speakers can be connected to the laptop through two audio ports.

We just wanted to jack the investment on the left. And 'better on the right. The cables are rather in a way, when the mouse is used. Cause: The doors are located far away from the front.

Performance
The processor is one of the best components Erazer X6815. Medion ie to donate 15 inches with a quad core faster. Intel Core i7 will be Sandy Bridge 2630QM generation of powerful, and is produced in 32 nm process.

The processor is able to calculate eight threads simultaneously thanks to Hyper Threading (simulates four virtual cores). Players will first look forward to the Turbo Boost function, which allows standard clock of 2.00 GHz to be increased to a maximum of 2.90 GHz. The six MB of L3 cache and 995 million transistors (i5 series: 3 MB and 624 million) also deserve respect.

In addition, Intel equips its Sandy Bridge processors are small graphics chip HD 3000 Graphics allows notebook manufacturers to build a chart speed manual or automatic. The processor is not particularly cheap. Intel says a thermal power of 45 watts.

Lenovo B470 Notebook Review

The Lenovo "essential" is a portable B470 decent performance for small and medium-term, with a portable form factor of 14 inches. The B470 offers an Intel dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM, a fingerprint reader, and either Intel or NVIDIA HD. The system also provides an excellent mobile 6 hours.

Specifications Lenovo B470 :
  • 14.0" 720p HD glossy display (1366x768) with LED backlighting
  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
  • Intel Core i5-2410M dual-core processor
  • NVIDIA GeForce 410M (switchable to Intel HD)
  • 4GB DDR3 RAM (1333MHz)
  • 500GB Hitachi hard drive 5400rpm
  • Intel 802.11 b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • DVD-multi (dual layer) optical drive
  • 6-cell Li-ion battery (48Wh, 10.8V)
  • Fingerprint reader
  • Integrated webcam
  • Weight: 6.61
  • Dimensions: 1.30 (H) x 9.22 (W) 13.37 (D)
  • One-year limited warranty
  • MSRP as configured: $999
Building and Design
The new B470 "essential" notebook features a matte black plastic design with textured horizontal lines on the screen. The cover has rounded corners and edges of the screen is covered with shiny plastic. The design is fairly standard, and unpretentious, which is great considering it is a portable "substantial" business.

The design element that could make this notebook stand out from other business notebooks is its shiny plastic surrounding (and) the screen. The gloss will also collect fingerprints and dirt easily.

Plastic used in the display are weak in the corners where they bend inwards, although the effect of "wave" of the LCD has not been created. Cover everything just not as strong as it should be, this could help by putting a little 'and brushed aluminum. The display hinges are, on average, in the sense that holds the lid in place, but it is quite easy to fold the screen and a little 'harder to bend forward.

Below the keyboard within a metal frame is hard again to keep the keyboard to flex under pressure, a large move by Lenovo to help other average build quality. The bottom of the notebook has a matte plastic construction standard, extremely robust chassis is solid. Remove the five screws to open the fund to upgrade the RAM, SIM card slot (some models), hard disk, and PCI Express Mini Card slot compartment.

The overall quality of construction is above average. Complaints have involved the display hinges to the middle deck, easily foldable plastic, and the use of brilliance in and around the screen (which is a bit unusual for a business laptop). The design is small and fairly standard, what is good for its category and its intended use.

Ports and Features
The selection of ports on the B470 is large enough. Includes a 6-in-1 memory card reader, four USB 2.0 slots total (a combo eSATA), HDMI, and a switch useful GPU. The ports selection is needed is an ExpressCard slot 3.0 and SuperSpeed.

Performance and Benchmarks
Lenovo B470 is equipped with an Intel Core i5-2410M dual core processor, 4 GB of DDR3 1333 MHz, NVIDIA GeForce graphics and Intel Switchable to save battery life HD 410M. Our unit has a 500 GB hard drive with a speed of Hitachi 5400.

The processor is fast and the amount of memory is enough, and when we work together, they are good enough to multi-task and office productivity software career with a slight breeze.

Nvidia graphics card is only a starting level graphics card, but there should be no problems playing back HD video, or some of the older games. To put the potential, 410M graphics card is not much better than the HD 3000 Intel graphics, unless you do not play.

Hard Disk offers a decent amount of space, but has a speed slower than the fastest hard drive 7200rpm, or SSD drive very fast. When you can not choose to drive faster than Lenovo's site.

Apple MacBook Pro Winter Review

After a period now usual rumors, leaks, and anecdotal evidence, a new generation of Apple laptops MacBook Pro arrived. And while these new models may look the same as those they replace, the changes under the hood are some of the most ambitious in the history of the brand MacBook Pro.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro moves based on the original core of Intel processors and the latest series of the second generation chip, code-named Sandy Bridge. Not only that, you can forget to see the Intel Core i5 15 inches (or 17 inch), MacBook Pro - using high-end quad-core Core i7 now. Our step-up Review Unit $ 2,199 was 2.2 GHz Quad-Core i7 4 GB of RAM and a huge 750GB hard drive (5400 rpm only, however).

The lowest cost 15-inch MacBook Pro is still $ 1799, after the usual opening of Apple keeping prices stable, but adds quickly, more powerful components. While we are still waiting for the most frequently requested enhancements such as HDMI, Blu-ray, and 3G, the speed and power of these new quad-core CPU Core i7 are very impressive, and leaves even more recent MacBook Pro in the dust.

Specifications Apple MacBook Pro Winter (2.2GHz Core i7, 15-inch) :
  • Processor : 2.2GHz Intel Core i7 quad-core
  • Memory : 4GB, 1,066MHz DDR3
  • Hard drive : 750GB 5,400rpm
  • Chipset : Intel H67
  • Graphics : AMD Radeon HD 6750M / Intel HD 3000
  • Operating system : OS X 10.6.6 Snow Leopard
  • Dimensions (WD) : 14.4x9.8 inches
  • Height :0.95 inch
  • Screen size (diagonal) : 17.3 inches
  • System weight / Weight with AC adapter : 5.5/6.2 pounds
  • Category : Mainstream
  • Price : $2,199
Case
Aluminum monocoque construction is an emblem, like the large glass trackpad multitouch. Most ports and connections remain the same, with the addition of new remarkable. When the Mini DisplayPort used to be, now a port of the same size that is marked with the icon of a flash.

That's Thunderbolt, new Intel high-speed technology power port for transferring data and sample. Ray technology is seen as a kind of unified future successor USB, FireWire, and DisplayPort, which allows devices to 10 Gbps of data and video (the video above, which may have been a slip and said Mbps, but meant Gbps).

Graphics
The biggest surprise is a 15-inch MacBook Pro graphics card. Instead, Nvidia 330M can be found in these previous systems, the GPU from Nvidia came from a long time rival AMD. Base 15-inch model is the AMD Radeon HD 6490M, and our review unit was still faster than 6750M. Best Intel integrated graphics card is a 13-inch model, this means that Nvidia has completely ousted from the line MacBook Pro

Netbook Review Nokia Booklet 3G

Before the advent of compressed air first, in the days of generation iPhone first, netbooks have the option of choice when the battery life, low weight and low input prices are problem. Nokia also wanted a piece of cake and presented its 3G Booklet in 2009.

A case of aluminum and had integrated 3G UMTS module were to attract buyers that the ticket price is set quite high, with around € 699 (RRP). Today, more than two years later, a group consisting of an Intel Atom Z530 with integrated GMA 500 graphics chip, 1 GB of DDR2 memory and a capacity of 120 GB hard drive should be left on the shelf. Although this book is for sale, and currently there is still a price of about $ 300. This is very daring, because the options of low-end and high end.

Specs Nokia 3G Booklet :
  • Processor : Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz
  • Motherboard : Intel US15W (Poulsbo)
  • Memory : 1024 MB DDR2
  • Graphics adapter : Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 500, 8.14.10.2013

  • Size : height x width x depth (in mm): 19.9 x 264 x 185
  • Weight : 1233 kg Power: 0.167 kg
  • Battery : 57 Wh Li-Ion, 3840 mAh, 6 cell, 14.8 V, Model: BC-1S
  • Prices : 699 euros
  • Operating System : Microsoft Windows 7 Starter 32 bit
  • Features : Webcam: 1.3 megapixels, Digital Focus, a netbook, Battery (BC-1S), AC power cord (AC-200), documentation, cleaning cloth, USB charging and data cable (CA-126), Nokia in-ear (WH-205), F Secure Internet Security 2010, Microsoft Office 2010 Small Business (trial version), the Nokia Ovi Suite & Social Hub (with separate download), the Nokia software, 24-month warranty, Colors : black, white, blue, 2 stereo speakers, the acceleration sensor, a GPS receiver (A-GPS) Nokia Maps pre-loaded, air, aluminum housing
Case
Nokia uses a silver and black design is very basic. The aircraft aluminum is used for most regions and creates an appearance of high quality material and feels. But in general, they provide a significant advantage in weight (1.23 kg). Moreover, the dimensions conform to normal rules.

The finish is impressive and does not meet the premium application is suggested by the price. For example, the display glass breaks in the area of the camera, and apparently only stuck. Other parts of the complaint case fails stability, the ability to define part of the screen and casing, and a crackling sound when handling brochure.

Another drawback is the screen covered with a layer of cheap plastic, high gloss. This layer is very sensitive and therefore not resistant to scratches. Only the 6-cell battery can be removed and replaced. Positive: It fits tight. Access to internal components of the system is not possible. You should be happy with the given beam.

Communications
The Handbook of communication options as convincing, except for two small flaws. In addition to a modern WLAN 802.11 b / g / n module incorporates a 3G UMTS, no RJ45 network connector for transmission cable. Besides this, the Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR version is no longer so far.

Slightly higher in given delivery. In addition to the usual accessories (battery, power cord adapter and documentation), Nokia includes a small cleaning cloth, ear headset and USB charging and data cable. We need soft neoprene sleeve or sleeve, preferably in the design of matching for images.

Connections
Device connectivity is divided into left and right, and is typical of the netbook. In addition, three USB 2.0 ports, HDMI and SD card reader, a common standard for the time of release, are offered. However, to be honest, we must emphasize that the HDMI port was still a rarity in netbooks, two or three years ago. There is no reason to complain about in terms of positioning or ambient air.

Performance
Intel Atom Z530 a single core processor with two son, a 512 KB L2 cache and a clock frequency of 1.6 GHz works within the netbook Finland. This package, with GMA 500 integrated graphics, a solution was not used in the field of netbook, even in 2009. This combination of performance is limited to simple office tasks. The particular combination of equipment is not suitable for high-definition video or 3D games.

The Silverthorne processor is placed at the end of our database in multi-threaded Cinebench R10 rendering (32 bit) with 813 points. Intel Atom N270, the first netbooks running moves at a comparable level. 3G The book has integrated Intel GMA 500 graphics device proves to be too slow. GPU only 120 points in 3DMark05 just old.

Similar configurations, such as the MSI Wind U115 or Asus Eee PC 1101HA is in its immediate vicinity. However, units with an Intel Atom N270 and the GMA 950 is a little faster. These two options are not guaranteed acceptable performance 3D and video, though. Overall a mixed performance, where Intel Atom N570 or AMD Fusion E-350 APU used in netbooks today are clearly ahead.

A small 1.8-inch Toshiba hard drive (model: MK1235GSL) works in the book as a memory device. This is not the fastest, because the usual assumptions of the SATA II bus, and only 4200 rpm. This is just low enough to 36 MB / sec read and 34 MB / sec in a write operation in Mark disk crystal. Access rates (AS SSD) is not overwhelming, either. Together with the material results in low start-up time long and slow settings window Windows 7 against new netbooks.

Sony Vaio VPC-CB2S1E/B

Sony has unveiled a new Sony Vaio VPCCB2S1E / B, a new model in the series C Vaio CB2S1 is intended to be a partner in a sleek laptop, which manages the media very well. In any case, the Full HD screen and integrated Blu-ray drive is very clear.

But the laptop hardware is impressive in other respects. And an Intel processor family before Sandy Bridge, you get a graphics card, AMD HD 6000-series. A backlit keyboard with separate numeric keypad to complete the package nicely.

Specifications Sony Vaio VPC-CB2S1E/B :

Case
Sony bags are usually distinguished by their attractive design and good build quality. The Vaio VPCCB2S1E / B is no exception. Design black (or white if you prefer) is a great first impression, and a number of interesting tricks to seduce you. 3D effect was included in the cover and the area under the palm rest, making it look like small square boxes on the surface.

It is a good effect, but also has its drawbacks - each of the surfaces of the laptop are bright plastic surfaces. These seem to magically attract fingerprints and traces of fat, and are soon covered in them. So you should always use a soft microfiber cloth cleaning with you in your bag. Despite this, we really like the 3D effect created by the plastic surfaces. It is particularly notable in the area of palm rest.

Depending on how light strikes the surface, the model under some blue lights. As for build quality, Sony Vaio laptop is not lagging behind its competitors and there can be no cracks or pops. And even display the cover firmly resists being twisted, but it is also relatively thick.

The two hinges holding the screen cover, but only after he has ceased to waver back a few times. It is possible to open the laptop with one hand, but the base is pulled slightly upward with the lid. Sony Vaio basic unit closes. The palm rest barely flex at all, even under high pressure, but the keyboard is not as resistant to pressure, as you hope. In the middle is still quite robust, but the closer you get edges, Spon gets.

It is particularly visible in the keyboard - you can feel the bend itself in normal use. There are two removable bottom that allows you to upgrade your Sony Vaio VPCCB2S1E / B, even if they are only giving access to the RAM and hard drive. The rest of the material kept away from the user.

Performance
Sony has equipped the Vaio VPCCB2S1E / B laptop with an Intel Core i5-2410M processor. This is a dual-core processor series Intel before Sandy Bridge. The 2410M is a mid-range processor performance, but with a standard speed of 2.3 GHz the two processor cores have sufficient influence to most applications. And if you have problems, Intel Turbo Boost can give a little boost in performance, overclocked the processor when needed.

If only one processor is the heart of the necessary speed to 2.9 GHz is raised when the two cores are used, the speed can be increased to 2.6 GHz You should, of course, adequate cooling to deal with this. The processor is very frugal, with a TDP of 35 watts, so a 15-inch laptop like the Sony Vaio VPCCB2S1E / B should have no problem cooling the processor.

Graphics, the work is left to the Intel HD 3000 graphics card is integrated into the processor, but dedicated to the model of AMD, the Radeon HD 6630M is accurate. Sometimes, it is still called the ATI Radeon 6630M, but this is not entirely correct.

When AMD bought ATI, has gradually started slowly on behalf of ATI, and so recent 6000-series is now only carry the name of AMD. As the processor, the AMD HD 6630M is a mid-level model. It allows modern games to run smoothly with medium or high settings for details. More recent games especially benefit from the card with DirectX 11 capabilities.

We evaluated the performance of the processor using Cinebench benchmarks, versions 10 and R11.5. In Cinebench R10 rendering a (64 bit) reference, the Sony Vaio VPCCB2S1E / B, were placed in 4631.0 points. Compared to other notebooks that use Intel Core i5-2410M, the Sony portable is highly resistant. There are just some of the same processor for laptops that are faster than the Vaio.

As a pioneer of these is the MSI notebook A6400-S Ci507 (2410M HD Graphics, 3000) and 4670.0 points. It 'only 39 points better. In Cinebench R10 multi-making (64 bit), Sony Vaio, while the results of a comparison to its competitors. With 9827.0 points, is again just a few steps behind the fastest laptop processor 2410M. Acer Aspire 5750G (LX.RAZ0C.008) (2410M GT 540m) cable is a very narrow, 9840.0 points.

To determine the overall system performance of the Sony Vaio VPCCB2S1E / B, we used two PC Mark Vantage and PCMark benchmarking programs 7. In PC Mark Vantage benchmark, the notebook scored 6150.0 points overall. What is the first third of our benchmark results table.

Compared with other laptops that use Intel Core i5-2410M processor, the laptop is not bad, finishing near the top of the middle section. In the same area as the Sony Vaio laptops are like the Dell XPS 17 (840QM, GT445M) for example, which scores slightly higher than the Vaio, with figures at 6153.0 points. The 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro 2011-02 MC721LL / A (2635QM, HD6490M) even finished with 6133.0 points Vaio.

For the PC Mark 07 test, the result does not look so good, but we did not use this reference point for our estimates that for a long time, and so the board is not as populated as a test PC Mark Vantage. Here, the Sony Vaio is lagging behind its competitors in the same processor. And 'the result of 1732.0 points. Portable devices such as the Dell Inspiron 3450 N34506 (2410M, 6630M HD) achieve significantly higher (1911.0 points, Dell).

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v Tablet Review

Samsung 10-inch tablet debuted to the public for the first time at Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona earlier this year. Samsung was not present for the CeBIT 2011 in Hannover, also had no view of the sample simultaneously Roadshow, but the mobile operator, Vodafone, was a device to counter.

There is talk of Vodafone: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v is shared only with the layout of the hardware device from Vodafone in Germany until the downside. However, there is no SIM lock. As for equipment, given the current rate monotonic. In addition to a brilliant 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels and 160 dpi, 2 Nvidia Tegra system on a chip (SoC) based on ARM RAM and 1 GB of work inside.

GBS is a memory 16 from the factory available for music, movies, software and other content. You are not spoiled the UMTS business in this tablet, because there is no WiFi available model in the table. Before coming to the price, the unit is another interesting feature: It is an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus.

Suggested retail price for this package complete 16 GB is a steep € 660. Galaxy Tab 10.1v, however, is available from EUR 550 different retailers, the latest price comparisons. Therefore, it is once again within the limits and can not compete with Apple iPad 2

Specifications Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v :
  • Processor : NVIDIA Tegra 250 1 GHz
  • Memory : 1024 MB, onboard
  • Display : 10.1 inch 16:10, 1280x800 pixel, 160 DPI, capazitive touchscreen, glossy: yes
  • Harddisk : 16GB SSD, 16GB
  • Connections : 1 Docking Station Port, Audio Connections: headphone out (conbo port),
  • Networking : 802.11 b/g/n (bgn), 2.1 +EDR Bluetooth, 3G-UMTS (HSPA+)
  • Size : height x width x depth (in mm): 10.9 x 246.2 x 170
  • Weight : 0.574 kg Power Supply: 0.065 kg
  • Battery : Lithium-Polymer, 6 cells, 6860 mAh
  • Price : 659.90€ Euro
  • Operating System : Android 3.0
  • Additional features : Webcam: 8 Megapixel Kamera mit LED-Blitz, Autofokus, 1080p, 2 Megapixel Frontkamera, tablet, adapter with German power plug, USB cable, in-ear headset, user's manual, Pulse Reader, 24 Months Warranty, model: GT-P7100, color: black, brightness sensor, gyroscope, acceleration sensor, A-GPS, digital compass, 2 stereo loudspeakers, exclusively at Vodafone w/o SIM lock until now
Connectivity
Pages accommodation reveal no surprises, and many of the interfaces are not installed. Except for the usual headphone jack, for connecting a headset is just a 30-pin connector for charging the device or by connecting the adapter. Product Package, Model EPL 1PLR, and a USB port and card reader cost about 30 euros and can be purchased separately.

In essence, in particular, to lose a microSD card reader or SD memory cards, plus a USB port. More recently, more subtle, and at the same time, the Samsung Card Galaxy 10.1 Android 3.1 (without the 'v' Vodafone) have achieved in this sector.

Case
The tablet comes in "metallic silver" after shopping. The anthracite, silver and black to a modern and at the same time, printing plain appealed to us. They also feel looks good and is not marked by the plastic used. A small error in our sample are irregular hole edges in the volume rocker.

A bonus point is rubberized, textured Flipside, which also offers perfect ergonomics with two depressions. This prevents the device from slipping easily into your hand. HTC Flyer Apple iPad tablet or 2 with the aluminum part to see more high quality, where this principle always be a matter of taste.

Tab Galaxy will remain within the limits and 10-inch device size of about 24.6x17x1.1 cm and the total weight of 576 grams. Comparison of Xoom or iPad Motorola 2 are a bit 'heavier by 730 grams, 601 grams respectively. 10.1v can not be carried around in a pants or coat pocket and holding it becomes uncomfortable quickly, unlike the HTC Flyer smaller, with 7-inch screen (430 grams). Cases, stability can not leave anything to be desired. It could be just a little 'convoluted, and not popping or cracking can be detected.

Performance
The popular Nvidia Tegra 2 (Tegra 250) System-on-a-chip (SoC) based on an ARM processor working inside Galaxy Tab 10.1v. Power at 1 GHz is divided into two nuclei with this solution (dual core), which is backed by a 1 MB cache.

As it is called a SoC, the most vital hardware like processor, graphics card, the GSM and UMTS chipset, is located on a block. Many other manufacturers of tablets that come with Android 3.0 also comes with a Nvidia solution. Examples would be Xoom Motorola, Dell Streak 7 "or Acer Iconia Tab A500 Tablet / MID we tested extensively.
